Liddle Wolfgang-Al Kilgore-1966



Here we have one of those strips that looks pretty much like it could have been an adaptation of a cartoon only it wasn't. Art here is from the brilliant Al Kilgore, perhaps best known for his caricatures and his ROCKY and/or BULLWINKLE comics and strips.

I do remember seeing a couple of this series - one has the kid's dad try to scare him to the staright and narrow reading James Whitcomb Riley's poem "Little Orphan Annie" ('the goblins will get you if you don't watch out!') Definitely had the spirit of 'Bullwinkle's Corner' or 'Fractured Fairy Tales', treating established works with equal parts cheekiness and respect.
