Johnny Rebel-Bob Fujitani-1942


This guy...Well, the last time I posted one of his stories, below is what I wrote. Cant think of anything better now. Yikes!

  "Just when you think you've seen it all as far as goofy sidekicks, you find Johnny Rebel, a southern-fried superteen whose sidekick is--and I'm not making this up, Rufus, the old family retainer. Words fail me."

I've read a few Johnny Rebel stories before. Kind of a strange concept. And I love how in pages 2-4, Rufus speaks like a normal person, but after that, he reverts to the minstrel-show dialect pop culture relied on back in that era. It's almost like they forgot whom they were writing dialogue for, at first.
